November International Blog Hightlight

Hello everyone!  It is time for another International Blog Highlight with Kylie Bertucci.  These highlights are always a lot of fun for me, and really stretch my creativity.  This month, Kylie and her husband are celebrating their wedding anniversary, and so our theme is "Love".  I decided to make a wood paneled bridge card for the challenge.

Here is my card.

I love this card.  It came together pretty quickly, and it'll be the perfect pick me up or reminder for any loved one in your life.  When I was at OnStage in Salt Lake City last week, I received a swap card that had this shiplap look to the background.  I decided I wanted to try it on my own.  I cut the base for my bridge card, and then cut an adhesive sheet to the same size.  I cut many pieces of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to 3/4" x 3" and started laying them onto my sticky Whisper White cardstock.  After I had covered the whole thing, I used my Paper Snips to trim around the edges.

Here is a closer view of the words.  I used Versamark and Copper Embossing Powder for both greetings.

I just learned how to make this fun metallic accent while Shelli was presenting during OnStage.  I poured a pile of Copper Embossing powder onto my Silicone Mat, and heated it with heat tool from underneath.  Then, when all the powder was melted I took a heart stamp from Tabs for Everything and pressed it in.  When the powder was cool, I cut it into a circle (ish) shape.  It was very easy, and very fun!  I love this new way of adding another element to my projects.

That is all I have to share for today!  I would be so honored if you went over to Kylie's blog and voted for my project!

Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Top Ten Blog Hop

Hello there everyone!  Today, I am so excited to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Top Ten Blog Hop!  There is so much talent on this hop, it is quite the honor to be invited to participate.

A couple weeks ago, we had the International Blog Highlights, and our theme was Life Changes.  I made the baby card below.

For this hop, we are using the same theme, and this time I have chosen to make a retirement card.  Here is my card:

I started with a Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base.  I used a piece of designer series paper from the Painted Autumn pack for my background.  I cut an oval out of that with the Layering Oval Framelits. On a separate scrap of Very Vanilla, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink up and stamp the oak tree stamp from Lovely As A Tree.  I cut it out with a smaller oval framelit.  I also cut out an oval mat for the tree, out of Copper Foil Paper.  The copper, and the tree are glued down flat to the card base.  But, the designer series paper is popped up using the Foam Adhesive Strips.  For my greeting, I used an oldie, but a goodie from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  I added some 1/4" Copper Trim to finish the card off.

Please be sure to hop around, and see all of the lovely creations.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamp with Me Saturday: Manly Birthday

Hey everyone!  What are you up to this weekend?  Today I am sharing a manly birthday card that I made.  It is a card, and a gift card holder all in one.  In my family - the guys are hard to shop for, and I never seem to have an extra masculine card laying around.  This is a simple way to take care of both of those problems.

Here is my project:

Here is a picture of the gift card holder on the inside:

Believe it or not, there is actually no stamping on this project.  I was shocked when I realized that.  These cards are very fun, and easy to make.  I made a video to show you how.

That is all I have to share for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

SSInk: Case the DT - Cathy Autrey

Hey there everyone!  Happy Friday!  I am so happy the weekend is here!  My weekend is packed full of good times, and lots of fun.  Tomorrow I will be at a bazaar all day.  Then on Sunday, there is church, my stampin' team meeting, and then I get to go to the Garth Brooks concert with a good friend of mine.  I am so very excited!

Today on Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are CASE-ing a design team member.  We do this the first Friday of every month.  This month it is Cathy Autrey's turn to be CASE'd.  I really enjoyed going over her blog posts.  It was hard to find just one project to CASE.  I decided on her lovely daisy tags she created for her customer bags.  I needed to make some, and I just loved her design.

Here are my tags:

I didn't differ much from Cathy's original design. I just used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, and a Thanks stamp from the Jar of Love stamp set.

Here are Cathy's tags:

Be sure to head over to the SSInkspiration blog to see what the other design team members are sharing.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
