Treats for a friend

Hello everyone!

Every once in a while, I like to go onto YouTube and watch crafting tutorials.  Have you done that?  So many cool things to learn to make!

I watched a video done by Sam Hammond, of Pootles Papercraft, where she made a fun bag.  Her directions were very clear, and easy to follow.

I was able to put together the bag during my first time watching the video.

Isn't this just adorable?!?!!??

I used one of the Tranquil Tides patterns from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper pack.  To decorate the front, I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set, and some Tranquil Tide 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.

I needed a quick, and cute bag to turn into a little gift for a friend.  a friend of mine came over Tuesday afternoon to help me prep kits for my fundraiser this weekend.  Inside, I put a couple chocolates, and some Silver Embossing Powder.

Tickets are still available for the fundraiser this weekend, and we were sure to prep a couple extra kits.  Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great day!

ICS Blog Hop - It's a Guy Thing

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Inspire, Create, Share Blog Hop for the month of June!  The new Stampin' Up! annual catalog just launched a week ago.  Have you seen it yet?  Don't you just love it!?!?!

This month for our blog hop we are all featuring masculine cards.  Masculine cards are always the hardest for me.  But, this one came together pretty quickly.

I was excited to see that Masculine is also the theme for the Stamps, Ink, Paper challenge this week.  I have entered my card for their challenge too.

Here is my card:

I have used the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack for my background.  I am so happy to have realistic wood grain patterned paper!  The 6x6 size is perfect for cards or memory keeping, and $10 for 48 sheets is a great deal!

I used Crumb Cake for my card base, cut at 4 1/4" x 11", and scored at 5 1/2".  My Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is 4" x 5 1/4".  I also used a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" Early Espresso mat.

I stamped my number and letters in Early Espresso, onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and cut them out with their coordinating framelits.  The number abbreviation was punched out with the 3/4" circle punch.  I had not noticed until now that the Stampin' Dimensionals are a bit thinner than the Foam Adhesive Strips.  I like having the two different heights for dimension.

On my Always Artichoke strip, I embossed it using the Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder.  I love the deep impressions given when using the Dynamic folders.  I was so excited to see there are three new folders in this style in the new catalog.  I have all three coming in my order tomorrow, and I just can't wait to use them!

Next up on our hop is Janey.  I am sure that she has great things to share!  Be sure to leave a little love for everyone as you hop around!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

International Highlights Winners Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  I am so excited to be participating in the International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop.  A few weeks ago, I participating the the masculine themed highlights challenge.

This was my card:

Thank you so very much to everyone who voted for my card!  Today, the top 10 from that challenge are all participating in a blog hop.

We are continuing to use the masculine theme from the highlights, for our hop.
Here is my card:

I wanted to use my new Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.  I am really loving that thinlit.  It is part of the Foil Frenzy product suite found on pages 76 & 77 of the new  annual catalog.

I used the well loved Hardwood background stamp with Versamark and Copper Embossing Powder to create a subtle, almost tone on tone background.   I used one of the Layering Oval Framelits to cut a peek-a-boo into my card.  I used two ovals to make a frame, using Copper Foil Paper.  I was able to raise my frame with the Foam Adhesive Strips.  I used my Fine Tip Glue to attach my Happy Birthday Thinlit to the copper frame.

I finished off my card with some Copper Trim.  The Copper Trim was a lot more successful than expected, and so it is currently not available.  But it will be in just a few weeks.

That is all I have to share for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
Next up on our hop is the fabulous Cheryll!  I know you'll enjoy her project!

5 Days Left!

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I went out with a friend for mani/pedis and then just spent the rest of the day relaxing with my family.

There are only five days left until the end of the catalog.

Here is a card I made using some retiring products:

This card was made using the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, and the Fox Builder Punch.  Neither of these items are retiring, but can you spot what is?  The designer series paper is from the Affectionately Yours pack, the main color on the card is Watermelon Wonder, and the Mint Macaron striped ribbon are all retiring.

Here is a card featuring some new products that you can look forward to in the new catalog.

This card features products from the Birthday Memories product suite.  This fun suite includes a stamp set, framelits, designer series paper, and some ruffled ribbon, all with a vintage feel to it.

I hope you are having a good weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

6 Days Left - Petite Petals & Decorative Label Punch

Hello everyone!

There are only 6 days left of the current catalogs!

This is such a bittersweet time.  I am so sad to see some of my favorite items retiring into the sunset, but at the same time, I am so very excited to share the new catalog, and all of it's goodness with you!

Here is a card I made with three stamp sets I love, that are retiring.  To make this card, I started with a Thick Whisper White cardstock base.  I stamped the skid mark stamp from Gorgeous Grunge (what will I do without this set?!?!) in Basic Black.  I stamped my Petite Petals flowers in Watermelon Wonder and punched them out.  I laid out my flowers where I wanted them, so I would know where I wanted to stamp my leaves.  The leaves are from Affectionately Yours, and are stamped in Mint Macaron.  Once the leaves were stamped I attached my flowers with dimensionals, and added rhinestones to the centers.  (The Rhinestones are discontinued, but do not fret! They have been reconfigured, and will be available in the new catalog.)  My greeting is also from Affectionately Yours, and was punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I am not sure how to accurately express the sadness I felt when I saw my coveted Hot Dog / Hamburger punch on the retiring list.  Surely, classes will never be the same.

As sad as it is for things to retire - this is a needed clearing, so that we can make way for new exciting things!

This fun card was made using some of the new products coming out in just 6 days!  The Colorful Seasons Product suite has things to offer to paper crafters of all types.  On this card you can see some of the images from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  This card also shows the Color Theory Memories & More Card Pack.  I am so very excited about this new memory keeping system that Stampin' Up! is introducing.   The last new product featured on this card is the Crushed Curry 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon.  This new ribbon is so soft and pliable, and comes in three different colors.

Alright, that is all I have to share for today.  Come back tomorrow for another countdown post, full of sadness and joy all at the same time. :)

Hope you have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Only 7 Days Left! - Oh, So Succulent

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a great week!  We have been having lovely weather here in the Seattle area.  Makes me just want to stay out side, all day long!

Did you know there is only one week left for the Occasions, and the Annual Catalogs?!?!  I am so sad to see some of my favorite items leaving!

Today, I want to share with you a card I made featuring the Succulents product suite found on page 21 of the Occasions catalog.  The whole suite is retiring.  ðŸ˜¢

My card uses the Oh So Succulent Stamp Set, the Succulent Framelits, and the coordinating Designer Series Paper. (That is unfortunately already sold out.)

The framelits, and the stamp set are both marked down because they are retiring, which makes them a *fantastic* deal right now!

Have you put in your retired list order yet??

Hope you have a great day!

This card is for an upcoming fundraiser I am doing, that showcases this stamp set.

At the event, attendees will get to make 6 different projects.  There will also be lunch, raffles, and fun prizes too!  All profits from this event will benefit my Relay for Life team, and the American Cancer Society.  You can see more details, and register by clicking the picture above.
