Be My Valentine - Heart Happiness

Happy Friday!  Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?  My husband and I have plans to go out with a friend tonight, and then it will be all about baking to get ready for a Youth Group bake sale on Sunday.

Today over at Stylin' Stampin' Inskpiration the design team is sharing some do it yourself valentine ideas.  I am sharing a card I made that I plan to give to my daughter.

Here is my card:

I used the Heart Happiness stamp set for the focus of my card.  I stamped the striped heart twice in Melon Mambo, and for the middle one, I stamped it with second generation Melon Mambo ink.  I added in the outline hearts with Calypso Coral ink, and then embossed some heart clusters with Gold Embossing Powder.  This piece is on top of a piece of Painted with Love designer series paper, on a Rich Razzleberry card base.  For my greeting, I used the valentine's day stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Melon Mambo ink, on Whisper White.  I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.

That is all I have to share for today.  Be sure to head over to the SSInkspiration blog to see what the other design team members are sharing!

ICS Blog Hop - Epic Celebrations

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the February Inspire, Create, & Share blog hop.  This month we are still celebrating Sale-a-Braiton, but there is a twist.  One of our hoppers, Anastasia from Stampin' Blondie came up with a color challenge for us.

Here is her color challenge:

I was a little intimidated when I saw her choice.  There is no Whisper White, or Very Vanilla.  In the end, I had so much fun thinking outside of the box, and am very happy with how my card came out.

Here is my card:

I used the Epic Celebrations stamp set.  I stamped the sneakers in the background using all four different blues in the challenge.  I arranged them from lightest to darkest, and worked top to bottom.  Then I added a strip of Island Indigo cardstock embossed with the Hexagons folder.  I also added a strip of Night of Navy cardstock embossed with the Oh My Stars folder.  For my greeting, I used the Lots of Labels framlelits to cut out a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I stamped my greeting in Night of Navy, and added some dots from the stamp set in Bermuda Bay.  I backed the greeting with 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon in Bermuda Bay.

That is all I have to share for today, head on over to my friend Darla's blog see what she is sharing tonight.

SSINK Sketch Challenge: Party Pandas

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Our weekend was pretty low key.  On Saturdays, we have some of our neighbors over to play board games.  Well, this past weekend we also babysat my two young nieces.  The kids had a great time playing together.

Look at them all having fun in their cat ears.

Today over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are launching a new sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I haven't gotten a chance to use the Party Panda Sale-a-Bration stamp set much yet.  I knew as soon as I saw this sketch that I was going to be featuring this set.  I paired the fun pandas with the Picture Perfect Party paper.  I added a greeting to the bottom, using the classic label punch, and used the ombre Lemon Lime Twist ribbon in the background.

That is all I have to share for today.  Be sure to head over to the SSInkspiration blog to see what the other design team members created; and to play along with the challenge.

DIY Valentine

Good Morning!  Today the Stylin' Stampin' Inskpiration design team is sharing some ideas to get you thinking about Valentine's Day.  I decided to make a set of cards, and a box to keep them in.  My project features the Sure Do Love You suite found on pages 18 & 19 of the Occasions Catalog.

This is the box I made.  I made it using the Lots to Love Box Framelit Dies.  This box is sized perfectly to hold the new Narrow Notecards, and Envelopes that are also available as part of this product suite.

I went over all three hearts on the front of my box with my Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen, to add some fun shimmer.

I used the Narrow Note Cards to make five valentine cards, with coordinating envelopes.  Each card features a different patterns from the designer series paper pack.  Each piece of DSP was matted with a coordinating cardstock.  I added a simple ribbon knot, and a heart with a greeting.  These cards are very simple, and quick to assemble.  To coordinate the envelopes, I used my 2" circle punch, to punch out a piece of paper that was used on the card.

That is all I have to share for today, please be sure to head on over to the SSInkspiration blog to see what our other designers are sharing!

International Highlights - Magical Day

Welcome to the January International Blog Highlight, hosted by Kylie Bertucci.  This month, demonstrators from all around the world are sharing some fun ideas with you that feature items from the new occasions catalog.

My project features the fun new Myths and Magic product suite found on pages 36 and 37 of the Occasions catalog.  I made an accordion fold card, and a matching box to put it in.

Here is my project.

The card is a little bulky when folded, and so it wouldn't fit well in a traditional envelope.  So, I made a castle box to put it in.  I won't be mailing this card - I'll hand deliver it.

Here is a close up of my card:

I wanted to feature each of the fun images in the stamp set.  So, I stamped each image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, onto Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I used my Stampin' Blends to color them in, and then used the coordinating Magical Mates Framelits Dies.  All of my color suggestions came from my daughter.  I used my Large Letters Framelits to cut out the word happy using the 6" x 6" Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper pack.  The birthday comes from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Here is my card box:

I made my card box from the Lots to Love Framelits, also new in the Occasions Catalog.  I cut out the two needed card box pieces from Basic Grey, and then embossed them using the Brick Wall embossing folder.  I made my door using the Layering Oval framelits, Soft Suede, and Smoky Slate cardstock.  I embossed the Soft Suede oval with the Pinewood Plank embossing folder, and then added some Chocolate Chip ink to add some depth to the door.

Please go vote for my project on Kylie's blog!  The top ten demonstrators will all be participating in a blog hop in a couple weeks.

SSINKTC50

Hey everyone!  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are kicking off a new Technique Challenge.  We are having fun with embossing paste.

Embossing paste is a new medium that was introduced in the current annual catalog.  We were given two new options of paste in the Occasions catalog that just went live a couple weeks ago.  Right now you can get the paste in White, Shimery White, and Silver.  I chose to use silver for my project.  The great thing about the white options is that you can add some reinker to the paste to color it for any project you are working on.

Here is my card:

I started with a Berry Bust card base, and a silver glimmer paper layer.  My next Berry Burst layer has a Silver Embossing Paste pattern on it.  To get the pattern, I smoothed the embossing paste over a mask from the Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks.

My greeting features the new Amazing Congratulations stamp set, that you can find on page 51 of the Occasions catalog.  There are three separate pieces that come together to make the tricolor congratulations.

That is all I have to share for today.  Please be sure to head over to the SSInkspiration blog to see what the other design team members are sharing, and to also play along with our challenge.
