SSINK - Welcome Baby

Today, on the SSInkspiration blog we are all sharing baby ideas.  Pamela Wu from our design team is expecting a baby any day now, and we wanted to share baby projects to share in her excitement.

Here is my card:

For my card, I started with a Marina Mist cad base.  I wanted a watercolor wash background.  I used a piece of watercolor paper, and my Aqua Painter to swish on some color.  I used Lemon Lime Twist, Marina Mist, and Daffodil Delight.  While I waited for it to dry, I used my circle punches, and some Daffodil Delight cardstock scraps to make a little duck.  Before gluing the pieces together, I inked around the edges with my sponge, and Daffodil Delight ink.  When my background was dry, I stamped my greetings in Basic Black Archival Ink.  The Oh Joy comes from the Watercolor Christmas stamp set available in the holiday catalog.  I also used a Hello Baby greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  My watercolor wash layer is matted in Lemon Lime Twist.

That is all I have to share for today, be sure to stop by the Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration blog to see what the other design team members are sharing!

SSINK Case the DT - Pamela Wu

Hello everyone!  Welcome to September!  Fall is coming in just a few short weeks, are you ready? I'm ready for crisp fall days!

The first Friday of the month over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration is always Case the Design Team Member.  This month we are CASE-ing the fabulous Pamela Wu .  Pamela has been a demonstrator since 2010, and has such a talent for paper crafting.  I am so happy, and honored to be a part of this design team with her.

I chose to CASE a card that she posted on May 24th of this year.  Here is her card:

I love how fast and easy this card is to make!  This is great to CASE when you need something beautiful, quickly.  When I was making my card, I decided to change just a couple things.  I used the same stamp set, and designer series paper pack.  But I changed the colors, and the greeting.

Here is my card:

I really love the Daisy Delight stamp set, but I haven't used it very much.  Pamela's project has inspired me to get it out and use it more.

Thanks so much for being a part of the team Pamela!

Be sure to head over to the Stlylin' Stampin' Inkspiration blog to see how the other design team members have CASE-d Pamela's projects.

Thanks for stopping by!

For the Kids

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Today, my son is off on his first mission trip.  He is off to serve at a big Christian music festival, and will be gone for a full week.

Today, over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are all sharing ideas for kid's cards.  I knew right away when I sat down to make this card that I wanted to do something with the fun popsicles
.
Here's my card:

I used Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tangerine Tango to make my popsicles.  I used the Happy Birthday Thinlit twice; once in Real Red, and once in Basic Black.  I offset the black just a little so it shadows the words on the left.

That is all I have to share for today.  Stop by the SSInk blog to see what the other design team members have to share!

Thanks for stopping by!

SSINK - Case the DT Member - Cheryl Hamilton

Hello everyone!

At Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are starting a new feature.  On the first Friday of each month we will take turns CASE-ing one of our lovely design team members.  We are starting out with my friend, Cheryl Hamilton.

Cheryl was raised on Oahu and has lived on Maui for about 30 years.  She & her husband, Pat, have 2 daughters that are in their 20's.  Cheryl is a nurse who is happily working part time so that she can spend plenty of time with her favorite hobby...stampin'!

Be sure & visit Cheryl's blog:  www.createwithcheryl.me

I decided to CASE a card that Cheryl posted on May 29th.  I love this card because it is quick and easy, and I am always looking for more masculine card ideas.

#SSINKCC47

Hello everyone!

Today, over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we have a fun, summery color challenge going on.  Also, starting with this challenge we will now have new challenges on the first and third Monday of each month, which gives you more time to play with us!

Aren't those colors just so fun?!

Here's my card:

I am *in love* with the Wood Words stamp set.  I used the circle image to create my background.  I then stamped the rooster image in Melon Mambo on a Stitched Shape Oval, and added an Island Indigo greeting underneath.  I finished my card off with a Delicate Doily, two Pretty Label punches, and bow made from the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon.

Now it is your turn - head on over to Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration and play along with us.  I can't wait to see what you come up with .

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Wood Crate Note Cards

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a great week.  We are busy this week preparing for the end of our homeschool year, getting ready for the spring band concert, and also get ready for Father's Day.

Last week, I made some adorable little wood crates with the new Wood Crate Framelit dies, and coordinating Wood Words stamp set.  I made these crates for my customers who came to my In Color Spectacular class last weekend.

I cut my two wood crate pieces out of Soft Suede Card Stock, and then ran them through my bigh shot with the new Pinewood Planks dynamic embossing folder.  I filled the crates with five 3" x 3" cards, with coordinating envelopes.  These cards are super simle, and came together very quickly.

The envelopes were made from the coordinating Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.  I am in love with that paper.

The five cards feature a small piece of the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper, and each feature different stamps from the coordinating Wood Words Stamp set.

That is all I have to share for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

June International Highlights - Baby

Hello everyone! Welcome to the June International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight, hosted by Kylie Bertucci.  Each month, demonstrators from around the world participate in this themed highlight.  This month our theme is Baby.

I do not make a lot of baby cards, and don't even own any "baby" stamp sets.  At first, I was pretty panicked about what I was going to make in order to still participate in this month's event.  Then I was looking at a wood crate I made the other day and thought, hey - that is almost a baby crib!

Here is my card when it is closed:

I love the double-z fold cards.  But sometimes, I don't like the way mine look when they are folded flat for mailing.  So, I took extra care to be sure this card still looked great, even when flat.

But the real "WOW" comes when it is opened.  I used the Wood Crate Thinlit Dies, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, and the Pretty Label Punch to make a crib.  I decorated my crib with a Delicate White Doily, and a Powder Pink blanket made from a scalloped circle that I separated the paper layers on.  The little tiny elephant is from the Tabs for Everything stamp set.  On the side of the crib, I used the heart from the Wood Words stamp set, in Berry Burst.  The heart was used again in Powder Pink on the greeting label.  The adorable little banner hanging above the crib features more Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, a sliver from a Delicate White Doily, and the tiny elephant in Berry Burst, on Powder Pink card stock.  The banner is hung with Whisper White Bakers Twine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you like my project, please go vote for me in Kylie's International Highlights.  There is sure to be many more awesome baby cards to look at there.

Have a great day!
