Stamp with Me Saturday: Manly Birthday

Hey everyone!  What are you up to this weekend?  Today I am sharing a manly birthday card that I made.  It is a card, and a gift card holder all in one.  In my family - the guys are hard to shop for, and I never seem to have an extra masculine card laying around.  This is a simple way to take care of both of those problems.

Here is my project:

Here is a picture of the gift card holder on the inside:

Believe it or not, there is actually no stamping on this project.  I was shocked when I realized that.  These cards are very fun, and easy to make.  I made a video to show you how.

That is all I have to share for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

SSINK - Case the DT Member - Cheryl Hamilton

Hello everyone!

At Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are starting a new feature.  On the first Friday of each month we will take turns CASE-ing one of our lovely design team members.  We are starting out with my friend, Cheryl Hamilton.

Cheryl was raised on Oahu and has lived on Maui for about 30 years.  She & her husband, Pat, have 2 daughters that are in their 20's.  Cheryl is a nurse who is happily working part time so that she can spend plenty of time with her favorite hobby...stampin'!

Be sure & visit Cheryl's blog:  www.createwithcheryl.me

I decided to CASE a card that Cheryl posted on May 29th.  I love this card because it is quick and easy, and I am always looking for more masculine card ideas.

SSInk - Father's Day

Hello everyone!  Today over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration the design team is sharing different Father's Day Card ideas.

Here is my card:

I used the star from the Wood Words stamp set, and five different ink pads to make an ombre background.  At the top, I started with a row of Night of Navy partial stars.  I then moved to Dapper Denim, Island Indigo, Pacific Point, and Marina Mist.  The last three rows are stamped off versions of the last three colors.  Lining up the stars was so much easier than I thought it was going to be!

For my greeting, I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes on a Classic Label.  I wanted it to have a little bit of a mat.  So, I punched out an extra one in Dapper Denim and cut it in half.  So, my Dapper Denim card stock sticks out just a bit from my label.  I cut out the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes in Whisper White, and added a die cut star in Dapper Denim as well.  The die cut star is from the Wood Crate Framelit Dies.

I hope you like my card!  I had a lot of fun making it.  What are you doing for Father's Day?  Be sure to head over to the Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration blog to see what the other Deisgn Team members have shared.

Thanks for stopping by!

International Highlights Winners Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  I am so excited to be participating in the International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop.  A few weeks ago, I participating the the masculine themed highlights challenge.

This was my card:

Thank you so very much to everyone who voted for my card!  Today, the top 10 from that challenge are all participating in a blog hop.

We are continuing to use the masculine theme from the highlights, for our hop.
Here is my card:

I wanted to use my new Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.  I am really loving that thinlit.  It is part of the Foil Frenzy product suite found on pages 76 & 77 of the new  annual catalog.

I used the well loved Hardwood background stamp with Versamark and Copper Embossing Powder to create a subtle, almost tone on tone background.   I used one of the Layering Oval Framelits to cut a peek-a-boo into my card.  I used two ovals to make a frame, using Copper Foil Paper.  I was able to raise my frame with the Foam Adhesive Strips.  I used my Fine Tip Glue to attach my Happy Birthday Thinlit to the copper frame.

I finished off my card with some Copper Trim.  The Copper Trim was a lot more successful than expected, and so it is currently not available.  But it will be in just a few weeks.

That is all I have to share for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
Next up on our hop is the fabulous Cheryll!  I know you'll enjoy her project!

Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration Masculine Monday

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a good weekend!  We kept our weekend pretty low key as we try and battle off the last of this sickness that has plagued our house for the last week or so.  Thankfully, we are past the worst of it - and just one of us, my son, is left with that nagging cough.

Today is Monday, and that means that the design team members at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration have some fun stuff to share with you.  Today we are all sharing masculine cards.

Here is my card:

I love the Nailed It stamp set.  I lined up the three tools on my grid paper, and then stuck them to one block.  They were stamped in Archival Basic Grey Ink, and then watercolored using the new pencils, and the Delightful Dijon ink pad.

That is all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Guy Thing Hop

Welcome to this month's hop.  We are all featuring manly, masculine cards this month.  What great timing, with Father's Day coming up right around the corner.

I am so sorry my picture is on it's side.  My normal computer isn't working properly, and the other computer in our house is apparently having issues as well.  I am so very sorry.

For my card, I decided to go with a birthday card, featuring the reflection technique.  This technique is so much easier than it looks, and the trees from Lovely as a Tree always make for a great guy card.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card, next up is Tammy's blog.  I'm sure she has something great for you!
