Fourth Tuesday Fun Fold Technique #3

There are some great challenges over on Stampin' Addicts - you should go check them out!  They are great for new stampers, because it gives them somewhere to begin.  The challenges are also fabulous for more seasoned stampers, because it will stretch you to do things that you wouldn't normally do.  They have a new challenge on Stampin' Addicts almost everyday, and they are always great!

This challenge was to make a buckle card.  I have made these before, but it has been so long!  It was so fun to make, and pretty easy too!

Here is what I used:
Marina Mist Cardstock
Regal Rose Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
So Saffron Cardstock
Simply Said Stamp Set
Regal Rose Classic Ink
So Saffron Classic Ink
Marina Mist Classic Ink
Marina Mist 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Wide Oval Punch
Decorative Label Punch
Word Window Punch
Basic Rhinestones

Enjoy!

Christmas Card Possibility #2

This is the second idea I have come up with so far for our Christmas cards.  I am not set on either of them so far - so there will probably be another one soon.  I love the stamp set used here!  It just feels so vintage, so warm and Christmas-y.

Have you started working on your Christmas projects yet?  I want to see them!

Christmas Tags

Every year, I say I am going to make my own tags.  Every year I put it off because really - how long can it take to make a few tags?  And every year, I am writing on my presents with sharpies, because the tags just don't get done.   This year will be different! (I hope!)  I made this box for a class I had - so we could all be prepared with tags when we need them.  Hope you like it!

I had a lot of fun with the ruffled ribbon - this was my first attempt.

Enjoy!

Patrick's Halloween Birthday Party Invitation

My friend Lacey knows how much I *love* planning parties -so she is allowing me to plan Patrick's 5th birthday party.   Patrick's birthday is Nov. 1st.  We are having the party on the 30th - and we are doing a halloween theme.  I am super excited about it!  This is really stretching my comfort zone - as we don't normally celebrate halloween too much.  I let my kids dress up, and they trick or treat - but that is usually all we do.  I ordered a couple halloween items - and just came up with an invitation design.

sorry for the fuzzy picture - my nicer camera isn't working properly at the moment.

Little Benjamin's Birth Annoucement

I made these for my friend Lacey, who just gave birth to her second child, Benjamin.  I used taken with teal, close to cocoa, and whisper white cardstock.  I used close to cocoa classic and taken with teal craft ink.  For the patterned paper, I used some paper that was close to certainly celery, that I had gotten on clearance at joann's.  I took the photo of baby Ben, when he was just a few hours old.

Congratulations to Lacey and Will! And big brother Patrick!

A New Season of Life

Fall is still in the air. Though I've heard that it is supposed to be more summer like tomorrow, I just can't imagine that as I look out my window now.  Today is our first day of our first full year of homeschooling.  We are all excited, and a bit sad to see summer end.  Wish us luck!  Yesterday, one of my best friends had her second child.  He is just so precious!  Baby Benjamin arrived at 11:30am at a whopping 9 pounds 7 ounces!  Everyone is happy and healthy, and they should be on their way home this morning.  It was just a few short weeks ago when I was throwing a baby shower for baby Ben - so today I thought I'd share his shower invitation.  I am hoping to finish up his announcements today, maybe I will share those tomorrow.

For the shower, I decided to try and use up some of the retired stuff  I have.  Stampin' up! just retired about thirty colors from their palette at the end of june, and I still have a decent stock of all 30 of those colors.  We went with a Safari theme, in close to cocoa, taken with teal, certainly celery, (which is thankfully not retired!) and a little bit of chocolate chip.  Please excuse the nice patterned gum wrapper that is covering up my address and phone number.  LOL
Have a great day!
