Friday Favorites: Occasions Catalog Birthday Set

Hello everyone!  Welcome to Friday!  It is the first weekend of the New Year, do you have anything planned?  My son, my first born child, is turning 16 tomorrow.  I can not even believe it.  How did we get here?  Where did all the time go?  He is a great kid, and well on the way to becoming a wonderful young man.  I am so proud of him, and excited to see what this next year has in store for him.  So tomorrow we will celebrate with a friend party early in the day, and a family dinner in the evening.

Fridays mean Friday Favorites over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration.  This week, we are sharing our favorite birthday stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  For my favorite, I picked the Carousel Birthday stamp set, featured on page 9 of the Occasions Catalog.

I love the fun circus vibes from this whole product suite, but the stamp set is my favorite!

Here is my card:

I really like this cupcake ferris wheel.  I used my clear wink of stella to pick up ink, and color the tops of my cupcakes.  I also ran the wink of stella over the word "birthday" on the greeting stamp.

In this close up picture, you can see the sparkles.  I am not sure how I crafted before Wink of Stella.  I put that stuff on everything!

Happy New Year's!!

Hello everyone!  I can not believe we have reached the end of 2016!  Do you have big plans for New Year's?  Tomorrow is my birthday, and so we will be spending most of the day with my parents.  We will watch the Peach Bowl, (Go Dawgs!) eat pizza, play games, and of course have cake.

Today, over at Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiraton we are all sharing New Year's cards.  I love the idea of sending out new year cards.  Especially if you weren't able to get Christmas cards out.  I think any excuse to reach out to someone you care about and tell them you were thinking of them is a good excuse.

Here is my card:

My card features a sneak peek of an upcoming stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  This stamp set is called Love Sparkles.  All of the stamps in this set make me think of sparklers.  Sparklers make me think of New Year's and Independence Day.  You can see that on my Cheers greeting, I went over parts of the Basic Black Ink with my Gold Wink of Stella pen.

I stamped the stars from the Love Sparkles set, in Basic Black all over my Whisper White cardstock.  Then, to give it some real sparkle - I covered the whole piece in Gold Wink of Stella.

#SSInkTCC37 - Tiled Effect

Today, I'm playing along with the challenge posted over at SSInk.  This week they have a technique challenge. I love this technique!

Here's my card:

I did a 1/2" grid for my Whisper White, and then stamped the large flower from Birthday Blooms in Basic Black on top.  I water-colored the image using my aquapainter and some reinkers.  

Just for fun, when my image was dry, I highlighted some of the flower, and all of the words with my clear Wink of Stella pen.
