Cat in the Window

Hey everyone!  Welcome to October.  I am always in amazement of how fast the year seems to fly by; and this turning of another calendar page is no exception.

Today I am sharing a different way to use the fun cat punch featured in the holiday catalog.

I wanted my card to look like the outside of a house, with a peek into the window.  For the outside of my house, I started with Whisper White cardstock, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  Before running the folder through the big shot, I added some Sahara Sand ink, so I could get the two toned effect.  I cut out a whisper white window, and went to work deciding what I wanted the inside of my house to look like.  I used the Pretty Label punch, and Dapper Denim cardstock to make my curtains.  I used a scrap of Wood Textures to make a faux table.  On top of my table, I stamped the flower pot from the Sitting Here stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink  , and colored it in using the 2016-2018 In Color Markers.  I punched out my kitty cat, using Smoky Slate cardstock, and moved his head so that he was laying down in the window.  My greeting is also from the Sitting Here stamp set, stamped in Basic Black on a thin strip of Smoky Slate cardstock.

That is all I have to share for today. I hope you are having a great weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

ICS Blog Hop - Watercolor Christmas

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the September edition of the Inspire, Create, & Share Blog Hop!  This month, we are Introducing the Holiday Catalog.  Have you seen it yet?  It is amazing.  You can see a PDF version of the catalog here: Holiday Catalog

For my project, I wanted to show off one of the beautiful cards you can make with the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit shown on page 34.  I have learned that our kits always look 100% better in real life, than they do in the catalog.  This kit is no exception.  This is a FAST and super easy way to complete 20 cards in a jiffy.  You make 5 each of four different designs.  I have chosen to show you my favorite.

Here is my card:

The card base comes with a pretty Pool Party watercolor wash on the background.  I attached my Real Red rectangle, and glued on some sequins.  The trees were already on the white piece, all I had to do was stamp my greeting in Basic Black and pop it up on the card with dimensionals.  Not only do you get to make 20 cards for $20 with this kit, but it also comes with envelopes, and gold foil liners!

Next up on the hop is my good friend Darla.  I know she has something super fun to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Carols of Christmas

Hey everyone!  I hope you have had a good week!  Today I am dropping off my kids so they can go camping with the youth group from church - and my husband and I are just not sure what to do with ourselves!  They will be back on Sunday.  But this is the first summer where our kids have had plans, without us.  It is great for them, and good for us too - it is just a strange feeling that we aren't quite used to yet.

Today, with Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration we are sharing some fun ideas using the Carols of Christmas stamp set, and coordinating dies.  There is a great, pre-release going on right now for this fun bundle.  I love the big, bold greetings in the stamp set - and the dies have so many possibilities that we haven't really had before.

My card has a bit of a sneak peak on it!  I did not use the thinlit dies, but I have used some other products from the amazing Holiday Catalog that goes live on September 1st.

Do you see anything new?  I have used the brand new Merry Little Christmas designer series paper.  I also used the new Jute Twine.  Isn't this greeting amazing?!?!  There is another big bold greeting like this in the stamp set too.  I love big greetings that can be the main focus of your card.  My greeting was stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White cardstock.  I added the line detail stamp in Old Olive, and also a popped up Old Olive poinsettia flower.  Behind the greeting is some of the new Jute Twine, and two sneak peaks of designer series paper from the Merry Little Christmas pack available in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.

I hope you like my simple card, as much as I liked making it.  Be sure to head over to Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration to see what the other design team members have shown using this great stamp set!
