SSInk - Case the DT - Diana Eichfeld

Hello everyone!  Today over at SSInkspiration it is Case the Design Team member day.  Today we are all casing the fabulous Diana Eichfeld.  Diana is a contracts manager in Bristow, Virginia who is also a very talented demonstrator.  She is an avid runner, and recently completed the Prince William Half Marathon.  Diana is also a big Disney fan, and being a fan myself, I decided to CASE a Disney themed birthday card that she made.

I changed up the colors a little bit, but kept the overall design.  I love this card!  My card started, like Diana's with a Pool Party card base.  Then I have an Real Red layer ( 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"), that was embossed with the Sparkle embossing folder.  My Minnie Mouse head was made using the Layering Circle Framelits, and Basic Black cardstock.  I added a bow with the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon.  Like Diana, I also used a partial Lots of Labels framelits for my greeting.  But, I did not have the exact greeting that she used, so mine came from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

12 Weeks of Christmas - #12

Hey everyone!  Today, I am starting a new series here on my blog.  We will be counting down the weeks until Christmas.  Each week I will feature a card, and another coordinating item.  Can you believe there are only a little over 12 weeks until Christmas?  I can't!

Here is this weeks project:

My projects feature some prodcuts from the Color Theory product suite in the annual catalog.  For my card, I started with a Dapper Denim card base.  I added some of the Dapper Denim & Whisper White crackled designer series paper from the Color Theory pack.  On the DSP, I used Dapper Denim and Pool Party inks to stamp some snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I also cut out one of each snowflake from the Seasonal Layers thinlits, for more texture.  I love the look of the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon on the side.  My greeting comes from the Labels to Love stamp set, and was punched out using the Everyday Label Punch.  Both of these items are from the holiday catalog.

My little treat box is a Clear Tiny Treat Box found on page 195 of the annual catalog.  I filled it with some Hershey kisses.  I liked that the silver wrapper of the candies, coordinated with the silver on the card ribbon.  I wrapped some of the same designer series paper as what is on the card, around the box.  A simple baker's twine wrap and bow, and a tag finishes of this quick treat.  The tag features the same Everyday Label Punch, this time paired with the Merry Little Labels stamp set stamped in Dapper Denim.  In the background, I have stamped some of the snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, in Pool Party.

ICS Blog Hop: Ribbon of Courage

As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer awareness month.  Cancer is something that touches everyone in one way, or another.  If you are one of the lucky ones who hasn't heard those awful words - then you probably know someone who has.  This is why for the last four years or so my family and I have been so involved with Relay for Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  This month, our blog hop theme is Colors of Courage, showing support and encouragement for those who have or are dealing with this awful disease.  

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.  While most people know of them for being the one of the biggest financers of research, they do so much more. They attack cancer from every angle. They promote healthy lifestyles to help you prevent cancer. They research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments. They fight for lifesaving policy changes. They provide everything from emotional support to the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer. And they do it all 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  You can find more information, or get involved at cancer.org

Here is my card:

I started with a Bermuda Bay card base.  Bermuda Bay is a fabulous teal, and I knew I wanted my card to support someone with cervical cancer.  My Whisper White layer is embossed using the Garden Trellis folder.  Under my letters, there are two strips of 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon, in Bermuda Bay.  The "O" in the word hope was made from Ribbon of Courage stamp set, and coordinating Support Ribbon framelits.  I used a post it note to mask one of the ribbon tails, and then inked the stamp in Bermuda Bay.  After it was inked, I removed the post it note, and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  Because I had masked one ribbon tale, it did not stamp.  This gave me the needed teal and white ribbon for cervical cancer support.  The letters come from the Letters for You stamp set, and were also stamped in Bermuda Bay, onto Whisper White.  They were then cut out with the Large Letters framelits.  The letters, and ribbon were adhered to the card using Foam Adhesive Strips.  My greeting is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.  It was stamped in Bermuda Bay, onto Whisper White.  I used my Paper Snips and cut as close as I could to the words, and then cut the greeting apart so it would fit under my main focus.  Those pieces were glued on with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stress-Free, Homemade Christmas

Hello!  

In August, I started a Stress Free, Homemade Christmas Series.  This is a series of five classes, designed to help you get things made for christmas, without all the stress.  Each month we do 4-6 projects.  Projects vary, and can be anything from Christmas cards, to gift tags, ornaments, or giftable, items.  The next class in this series is coming up on October 13th.  

This is one of the projects from the September class.

It is a set of 6 gift tags, in a holder that I designed.  My tag holder is made from Crumb Cake cardstock.  I used the Lots of Labels framelits to make the front edge of my holder a little fancy.  I wrapped a piece of Tranquil Tide ribbon around the bottom, and embellished it with a bow.

My tags all feature the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set, and all have a Whisper White Lots of Label die embossed with the Holly embossing folder.  The red tags have a Cherry Cobbler base, and feature the gingerbread man.  He was stamped in Soft Suede, on Crumb Cake cardstock and punched out with the Cookie Cutter Punch.  The Crumb Cake tags feature Santa, stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White cardstock.  I colored Santa in using my Real Red, Basic Black, and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers.  The Tranquil Tide tags feature the reindeer.  I stamped the reindeer in Basic Black, onto Soft Suede cardstock.  On a scrap piece of Soft Suede cardstock, I stamped the reindeer again in Real Red.  I cut out the red noses, and glued them on top of the black noses.  All six tags have Jute Twine at the top, for attaching to gifts.

The next Stress Free, Homemade Christmas class is October 13th.  There will also be one in November, and one in December.  I hope to see you there!

Hey there everybody!  Today, over at SSInkpsiration we have a fun sketch challenge for you.

I had lots of fun with this sketch!  I love the new Painted Harvest stamp set from the holiday catalog.  I started with a Cajun Craze card base, that I embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder.  After it was embossed, I used a sponge, and my Cajun Craze ink, to add some extra dimension to the background.  My strip, and half circle both come from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  For my stamped flower, I started by cutting out a circle with the Stitched Shapes framelits in Very Vanilla.  I then stamped my flower in Tangerine Tango, and Cajun Craze.  My flower center is Soft Suede, and Chocolate Chip.  For my tag, I started out with a piece of Very Vanilla that measures 2" x 2 1/2".  I used my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and added my greeting in Cajun Craze.  I added two leaves that I inked up in Lemon Lime Twist, stamped off on my grid paper, and then stamped on my tag.  My final touch is a bow made from the Jute Twine.  I separated the Jute Twine, so it was not quite so thick on my card.

Cat in the Window

Hey everyone!  Welcome to October.  I am always in amazement of how fast the year seems to fly by; and this turning of another calendar page is no exception.

Today I am sharing a different way to use the fun cat punch featured in the holiday catalog.

 I wanted my card to look like the outside of a house, with a peek into the window.  For the outside of my house, I started with Whisper White cardstock, and embossed it with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  Before running the folder through the big shot, I added some Sahara Sand ink, so I could get the two toned effect.  I cut out a whisper white window, and went to work deciding what I wanted the inside of my house to look like.  I used the Pretty Label punch, and Dapper Denim cardstock to make my curtains.  I used a scrap of Wood Textures to make a faux table.  On top of my table, I stamped the flower pot from the Sitting Here stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink  , and colored it in using the 2016-2018 In Color Markers.  I punched out my kitty cat, using Smoky Slate cardstock, and moved his head so that he was laying down in the window.  My greeting is also from the Sitting Here stamp set, stamped in Basic Black on a thin strip of Smoky Slate cardstock.

SSINK: Animals

Hey everyone!  Today over at SSInkspiration, we are sharing ideas that feature fun, critters.  

My card features the fox from Foxy Friends stamp set.

Here is my card:

My card starts with a Soft Sky card base.  I stamped the two smaller trees from the Foxy Friends stamp set in Garden Green.  I then masked them, and stamped three of the larger trees in Wild Wasabi.  I used my Chocolate Chip Marker to go over the green tree trunks.  My little fox was stamped in Cajun Craze onto Whisper White, and punched out using the Fox Builder Punch.  I stamped the front legs onto the body, and the face onto the head in Basic Black Archival Ink.   Mr. Fox is sitting on a stump that I stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Crumb Cake cardstock, and then fussy cut.  I stamped the greeting from Better Together below the stump in Garden Green.
